What skylight work covers
A hole in the roof, done properly
A skylight is a deliberate opening in an otherwise continuous roof, so everything depends on how the edges are handled. The curb it sits on, the flashing kit that ties it into the roofing, and the underlayment beneath all have to work together. Get those right and a skylight lasts as long as the roof. Get them wrong and it leaks from the day it goes in.
We install new skylights, replace old ones, and track down leaks around existing units on shingle, tile and flat roofs across greater Los Angeles.

Benefits
Why skylight detailing matters
How we install
Curb, flashing kit, then the roof tied back in
Most skylight leaks are not the glass. They come from sealant used in place of flashing, a curb that has gone soft, or a unit set straight onto the deck with roofing lapped over the edges. Caulk gets used to buy time, and it fails within a season or two.
We build or rebuild the curb in sound material, install the manufacturer flashing kit for that unit and that roof type, and weave the surrounding roofing back in so water is shed over the flashing rather than held against it.

Skylight work we do
New units, replacements and leak repairs
We handle the full range of skylight work on Southern California roofs:
If you are already replacing the roof, that is the moment to deal with the skylights. The flashing is being disturbed anyway, and doing both together costs less than coming back to it later.
Why choose Roof Replacement Inc
What sets our skylight work apart
Skylights fail at the junction between two trades, which is why they are so often patched rather than fixed. We treat the unit and the roof around it as one assembly: if the curb is rotten or the underlayment beneath is shot, we deal with that instead of sealing over it.
